The aim of the shop is to provide the community with clothes, books, gifts and toys at bargain prices.
SCC Minister Matthew Atkins said, "Despite the difficult times we all face, our aim is to work with local people to bring hope to the Sheldon community, both practically and spiritually.
At the opening of the shop in December 2011, the ribbon was cut by Chris Faulkes, the headteacher at Mapledene Primary School, in recognition of the partnership between the church and the school.. Mrs Faulkes has said "It's great to have SCC use our premises and I wish them every success as they increase their involvement in the community".
The Hope Community Shop provides community and support services, with any profits from this venture used to support local projects and groups.
